AFC: Adult Foster Care Program
Adult foster care is a good, lower-cost alternative to residential care for individuals who can no longer live alone at home. With this option, they will still be provided with the appropriate assistance but family members or friends will offer the services. Among the services provided in adult foster care are daily living activities like mobility and ambulation, bathing, grooming, dressing, hygiene care, meal preparation, feeding, shopping, laundry, hospital appointment, house cleaning and among others. Apart from a more personal approach, other benefits of adult foster care are promoting routine continuity and receiving round-the-clock care. These are possible since they’ll be under the care of their own family members who, with compensation provided for their services, can focus more on their loved ones’ well-being.
